The need to experiment and search for new ways to express creativity through glass is what makes Palmer & Allen utterly unique.
Design and development doesn’t happen because there’s been a decision to introduce a new tile, it happens because Stuart and the artisans at Palmer & Allen are compelled to create.
Unlike an artist that only expresses through colour and texture, developing glass tiles demands another dimension. It requires the artist to have an intimate understanding of the principles of glass. Here art meets science, with outcomes that range from spectacular, to disaster. When it does all come together though, something special happens, and Stuart can stand back to admire his new creation. The chances are though, that the very next day he’ll be restless and attempting something completely different. Pushing the design boundaries is what Stuart thrives on, which is evident in his growing collection of experimental work.
